After we hop on the bus leaving Trabzon, all the adventure begins

from the border it started, and everything proved that…. this country…..

Well, next stop: Batumi

上了前往國境的巴士，我們的各種冒險才正要開始

而我們遇到許多，從邊淨海關就開始了，再再都證明了這個地方、國家的….

好吧，廢話不多說，出發!

at the border except for Adriano and Chiara who didn’t stay in Turkey over 90 days, we were all stuck at the border.

They don’t speak English and took us to an office

And still no one speak English!

We explained that we are students in Izmir, they don’t under stand

Well, they spoke a bunch of Turkish and say: Visa, 106 lira

not until we give them the residence permit paper,

they read and pass it on to all the officers, finally they said it’s fine to go.

What a mess.

The bus is already terribly late, already midnight, our bus was from 19:00 and should arrive at 23:00

When we crossed the border of Turkey, then it’s my problem.

Because Georgia government don’t recognize Taiwanese passport, so my passport is not a passport for them.

At the custom I showed them the German student visa which include resident permit of Germany, that is the only chance I can go pass

and they stopped me at the side,

after a while, one man came and ask me why am I here, and what I will do

I said I’m an Erasmus student traveling with my friends, we are all students

we’ll go to Batumi, Tbilisi, and then to Armenia, and come back and then to Turkey because it’s not possible to go through Turkish border from Armenia.

and they kept me waiting again,

And came asked me some more questions, with “good English"

My friends were all waiting for me, I was already prepared that if I can’t go pass I’ll fly straight away back

But luckily I finally got the stamp, which I realized a stamp of Georgia on a Taiwanese passport is really a precious thing

Erasmus is kind of a good word to use, in university and out on the road.

第一個關卡：過海關

首先是土耳其海關，沒、有、人、說、英、文

由於除了兩位義大利同胞，所有人都待超過90天的免簽，然後他們又看不懂我們是學生 有居留

於是把我們帶到裡面的辦公室，積哩咕嚕的說了一大串，然後又說要辦簽證，106里拉

我們才不要咧，我們已經辦了居留證，雖然我們三個難兄難弟從來沒有拿到過那張卡，但是紙本我們有準備好

好不容易才讓他們看懂自己政府發的公文，原來他們系統沒有通啊
想想也是，畢竟是土國

至少拖了半個小時，才終於通過

到了格魯吉亞海關，就是我一個人的問題啦

由於他們並不承認台灣護照，我能靠德國或是土耳其的居留才能通過

土耳其的他們看也不看直接叫我收起來

拿著我的護照，進去辦公室，我就在旁邊罰站

之後一個男人出來問了我一些問題"標準英文"

問我是做什麼的，來多久，去哪裡

我是交換學生，跟那群歐洲同樣是交換，旅遊觀光而已，我們會去貴國的兩大城市

然後再去亞美尼亞，之後原路返回，因為邊境封鎖只能這樣回來

接著他們又進去討論了好一陣子，終於，蓋章!

大概花了半小時吧，其實我沒有很緊張，想說大不了就飛回去報期中報告

不過好險過了，而且後來我才在大聖翔的解說下才知道原來台灣護照上面有格魯吉亞的官方印章是一個稀有物品呀

大概花了半個小時，終於可以上車啦

交換學生 Erasmus基本上到處可以當免死金牌用，

考試過不了，我只是來交換的

身分問題，我只是個交換生，有這個機構擔保我的身分

等等，用處十分大阿

We arrived Batumi at 2 am, the airbnb host is so nice to wait us until this late and let us late check out at night.
我們抵達的時候已經是半夜兩點，感謝Airbnb主人等我們到這麼晚，而且讓我們可以晚上才checkout

Batumi morning!

I woke at 9, and when everyone is still sleeping, I read some of my readings, I need to prepare a presentation when I’m back. And it turned out to be 3 presentations in one week.

由於沒有跟著大家去吃消夜，我比大家都早起，不過好像怎麼樣我都是最早起的，不知道為甚麼
讀了點文獻，因為回去有報告海要面對啊，後來回去那一周有三個上台報告，好險土國水準，簡單

And the best food here: Macdonalds
出來一直吃速食 不過滿有設計感的

and of course we need to start getting hospitalized
發病啦發病啦 比中二病更可怕的病

And then we went to the alphabet tower and got up, 8 lari

寫到最後總是有點個人感想

今天我已經看出來我們無法共同行動，我只好開始當回我的天職，GPS

帶著攝影師及我們的明星到處取景

然後跟咱們的義大利導遊先生溝通行程，好碰面，因為我們的手機通通不能用

只能到處找wifi

今天算是輕鬆的一天，滿簡單，而且乾淨的城市就是享受啊

準備前往下一站囉

So actually this is organized after we formed out team in Cappadocia,

Adriano told me before that he wanted to go to these places but haven’t got the chance,
So it’s now or never!

我們完全就是一個出發前一個禮拜才集結起來的臨時團體啊！
這個旅行，幾乎是說走就走的啦~
不過主要還是因為本來就有
禮拜天的晚上，所有人齊聚一堂，你訂車票我買機票他訂房間
貌似是個好團體，只有開始啦其實
而且原定要看的電影，也終究沒法看成了 可惜

We are a great team when we were organizing everything in one Sunday night, which was Ossy’s Birthday

But unfortunately we can’t watch Serbian movie that night as we planned, what a pity.

We were 7, lucky seven

At the airport we decided to rent a car, and then we hit the road!

The first stop: Monestary

we drove for one hour for it, but it’s worth it

The mountain and the stream made me feel at home, I’m just addicted to the air and the feeling

到了機場，跟兩位義大利人碰面之後，他們說他們到了才開始問旅遊服務中心有什麼，然後表示，如果可以租車的話很方便可以去漂釀的好地方

然後湊到駕照之後就出發了(咦?沒有先查好嗎….

路上的微風吹起我心裡的漣漪呀

山裡面是我的歸屬

This is our lunch, we waited FOREVER for it

破爛土菜還要等很久，聽說是自己養的河魚

其實這裡有點像三峽的千戶傳奇

And soon we arrived the monastery, but unfortunately it’s under restoration and is not opened to tourists.
然後到了門口說因為維修沒有開，恩，很棒，蒸的狠蚌

After that we were thinking of going to a lake, but we were tired and its dark, so we just went back.

The second day

we woke up early but just to see its raining.

First is the Sera Lake

第二天早起說要看湖看日出，恩，雨天而且晚起
其實路上已經開始小有衝突了，解決所有人的吃喝拉撒，還有有人要開窗有人覺得冷各種，先不多說

So we go for the underground cave: Çal Mağarası
這個點是我推他們來的，不然原本要去很遠的雪山，然後沒有雪鏈
地底隧道

Next, we need to return the car at 1, so Tomas and me went back to the airport with others in the city
And there was one small scratch on the tire and they made us pay 200 tl for it
its just soooooo s___tland style

還車時間為一點，只有駕駛跟導航我們兩個人去機場，其他人就去城裡面
他們在車站放好了行李，然後開始逛，我們兩個繼續背著所有行囊去還車，進城…
然後輪胎上有一點小破皮，就被要了200里拉 果然是鳥爛屎國家

After the musuem we are quite bored by these, and we want to make our film, so we split
We shot a great scene, and when we were done, there was a group of children went by, they asked us to do more, so well we just did the same clip again, actually it was awesome

然後逛完博物館我們膏肓人士已經受不了了，直接脫離去拍片
記得看影片中5:45開始的時候，我們拍了一場擂台，拍完剛好有戶外教學的小朋友經過
應觀眾要求我們還是加演了一場，效果十分顯著，配上當地的參拜音樂，完美

好吧，就第一個點來說，我其實滿不樂觀的，到了當地還不知道去哪裡
沒有租車這裡根本超難玩，然後全車只有我一個當導航，又是我在開音樂
照顧一車小孩膩 只差我沒有駕照不然大概就是我一個carry全場了是否，到時候就真的要收費了

然後立陶宛兄弟一直很熱要開窗，後面兩位小姐就很冷，爭吵不斷
一下這個餓那個想喝水，我們的西班牙小姐是個急躁而且沒禮貌的女人
接下來的發展 我改天寫吧

今天就是熱身，而且，我們的取景之旅，出發! 到處武打的瘋狂

This week is using the online map and create web applications

creating two basic app for the iyte campus information.

Half of my time in Izmir has passed, so I guess I should be aware and have some feelings about the surroundings.

In the class Advanced GIS is quite easy, but introduced me to some ESRI products which I haven’t got my hands on before.

This time is the Story map, I think it will be a great tool for presentation as a GIS user.

So, for the things besides technology? what did I learned here?

Well even though I will write things not so pleasant here, but still I don’t regret coming here.

As my moral, make every decision as yourself after ten years, will you regret not doing it?

If yes, of course do it. If no, well why are you still worrying so much.

It saved me out of a lot of emotional suffers.

So, as for everyday life, I’m used to not speaking any thing while going around in Urla, the town I live.

Though the fish selling guy is my friend now, but still I can’t really communicate with him.

And every other shops. And also looking for the best way to draw money and with card or cash.

those small things filled all the small gaps of life, chores took more time than in Frankfurt, and more tiring.

And for school life, it’s nice to be taking different lessons, the lesson mind set is some how life in NTU but not as advanced, sadly. I can understand why they do this but not agree with them.
Classes are not always understandable, or too crazy.

Research seminar, this is the third time I take courses to generate a research question, though I’m still bad at doing this, I’m not really a researcher I guess. But this seems to be the only class with a proper content as a master course. Though the teacher has some issues of repeating herself. Last week I had one individual class, to cut and finish her words and go to the next topic faster is the task.

Economic and regional development. the teacher seems nice and also have good lecture skill, everything is loud and clear, still, it’s not what I want. It is talking about the ancient 1990s model and how to grow. The era of endless growing is in the past, and all the things I stand for against.

Planning Theory is til now the most confusing lesson. Every week the most of the hard reading is from this class, and in the lesson, the question of the professor is really hard since she digs in all the details of the terms and phrases. And the answer is even more confusing, like is it even a sentence? every word is correct but don’t really have a answer. Just no idea what the heck is all the history of the theories which brought to the disastrous cities of the current US. I don’t know since it was always criticized in the past year.

Advanced GIS, well not so advanced since I’m already an advanced user. I guess it’s automatic A if everything went smoothly.

And then classmates, well it seems now I’m the Charlie and three angels, the sidekick of the DEU group. But it’s fun. And among the classmates, hmm English speaker is really rare, but still I had good friends I can give credits for this.

Outside of school I guess I’m stuck at Gulbahce, Urla surf house.

I really enjoyed there, the kiting is fun. And kind of the only place I can speak with people pleasantly.

When there’s wind, I want to go, when there’s no wind, nothing much to do.

The owner of Urla Surf House Nico is the best guy in the whole Izmir time I met, he got soul, and kindness of helping me and offers me all kinds of kite styles, he like to see kiters improve and he kites with freedom.

Strongly recommend to come to this place and enjoy the wind.

And how about the free diving course?

Well til today there’s three days on the boat, yes, only three fuckin days, from September.

And ALWAYS on windy days. The lessons are less progress. One indoor class took place last week, and it was turkish. The student who translates for me is not doing a good job, but I can’t blame him.
This Sunday there’s another session, and also, Sunday is the only windy day in the following week, damn.
I was looking forward to learning but the progress and the coaching just kept letting me down.

For the friends I know in Izmir? everyone is really friendly and nice. I can really count on everyone of them. They always offer help and ask if I need. And actually I really need them, I feel useless when nothing works out when I try to do anything, just frustrating, the bond between people is the best in here.
So, let friends help, and also a good reason to hangout, and grab a beer, turkish coffee, cay(tea), is always so enjoyable.
Friends here are more hanging out, comparing to the endless partying in Frankfurt.
So I quite enjoyed when there’s friends and really cherish the moments.
Though still mostly the moments are the lonely Urla townsville.

This blog is kind of the murmuring of the life here so far, I like some part, hate some part, complicated just like life itself.

I just have to keep going on and see where I go.
